Yes, I know I am a little late with the rest of the posts for the week, but here they are. Now, there is something that has been in the news, this week, that I wanted to talk about, but, since it has been some time the last time I said this, I bet it bears repeating. If you don’t like what I have to say, don’t read this, it is not for you. I have an opinion that is mine, and mine alone. Just like you have a right to find fault in the whole world and crap on it online, I have my right to voice how I feel about things.
Unfriendly Facebook Killing
Before you go and defriend that person, you might want give it a second thought. A Tennessee couple was murdered last month after removing someone on Facebook.  Jenelle Potter’s 30, father Marvin Potter, 60, and friend Jamie Curd, 38, have been charged with the first-degree murders of Billy Payne Jr. and Billie Jean Hayworth. This all happened after Jenelle Potter started making threats against them by phone and online, so the couple filed a legal complaint about her last year. The police say that Jenelle spent all of was an ex of Billie Jean Hayworth and that she had no job and spent all of her time online. The couple’s 8 month old new born son was found unharmed in his mother’s arms after the shooting. If you want to know more about this story go here.
I am all for looking out for ones kids and making sure they are never hurt, but come on, really? There was no call for this, I mean, come on! It is not like people don’t think we are gun-crazed nutballs here in the US, as it is. Now we are killing people over Facebook. Were they her only online friends? The only things you can take away from this is nuts don’t fall far from their tree, because all I can see is the Potters are a level of nuts that makes my head hurt. If your 30-year-old daughter can’t handle the fact that two people defriended her on Facebook, get her help. The only reason to kill someone over something on Facebook is if, by some means, their post impregnates your kid unwillingly. Then again, if that does happen, you might want to talk to your service provider, first.
